Students are allowed to complete independent study course if there is a instructor willing to facilitate it. Course at the undergraduate level does not require a capstone project. Master course will require a capstone project as approved by the faculty.

All credit for transfer must be analyzed by the faculty.

Most full-time students can complete a bachelor's degree in about 4 years. Less than full time degree completion will depend on many factors. BCCS works diligently to help student achieve their degree goals in as less time as possible depending on the student’s motivation and dedication. Most courses can be completed in 8 or 12 weeks.

BCCS does not offer financial aid, but on a case by case does give consideration for student that may be experiencing financial hardships. To receive a hardship exemption, a student will need to submit a justification to the President, Board of Trustees, and the Registrar

All students enrolling in an online course are encouraged to contact the instructor before the course begins. Instructors typically have information to share with students prior to the start of class and may want to confirm that all students have an adequate connection to the online learning site.

The date of your request to drop a class will determine your tuition liability for the semester.

Should you drop a class after the deadline for a refund, the tuition and fees for that class cannot be applied, in any cases, to tuition and fees for a subsequent offering of the same class or any other class taught in a later semester.

Exceptions:

• Course fees are nonrefundable.

• If you stop attending a class without officially requesting to drop it, you will not receive a refund.

Your refund amount will be determined by the number of calendar days from the start of the session in which you are enrolled. (It is not based on the day on which you enrolled or when the class begins meeting.)

For example: If your course’s session begins on January 4, days 1-3 on the refund schedule below would be January 4, 5, and 6.

• Session days 1-3: Withdrawal period with a 0 percent tuition charge (100 percent refund)

• Session days 4-5: Withdrawal period with a 50 percent tuition charge (50 percent refund)

• Session day 6: Withdrawal period with a 100 percent tuition charge (no refund)

All online courses require an internet connection. And although they may have different technical requirements, almost all online courses are offered through Zoom, Canvas, or Google Learning online presentation and web-based learning systems. Generally, you'll interact with the instructor and other students via Zoom, email, discussion boards, interactive chat rooms, video conferences, and/or phone.

If you are having technical problems, your first contact should be the technical support. In most cases they will be able to resolve your questions. The Technical Staff will be able to direct you to the right resource if you need additional support.

Once you are registered, the faculty member teaching the course will contact you with instructions for accessing the course materials, syllabus, and other class information.

Student will be given the name of the required text book and they will order it via Amazon, or any online book ordering service.

Acceptable payment methods are cashier checks, money orders, credit cards, Cash app, Zelle and other electronic forms of payment. No personal checks are accepted. The amount, time, and manner of payment of tuition, fees, and other charges, may be changed at any time and without notice.

Non degree seeking students, may audit a course, but will pay the same tuition rate as all undergraduate students. Students auditing a course are required to complete the work and attend class as other student. may audit a courseBCCS does not offer financial aid, but on a case-by-case basis, consideration is given to students that may be having financial difficulties. Yes. Credits earned through BCCS counts towards your degree.

The criteria for grading will be established by the faculty and outlined on the class syllabus.

Approximately 10 days after the end of your class your instructor will email your grade.

Once you receive your registration ID, the faculty member teaching the course will contact you with instructions for accessing the course materials, syllabus, and other class information. In many cases you can find the syllabus on Canvas. If not, please contact the department offering the course.

Methods vary by course and instructor but may include pre-recorded or synchronous lectures, videos, podcasts, PowerPoint slides, interactive chat rooms, blog posts, and more. Please refer to the syllabus for your course for details about how your class will be taught.

Questions about assignments or any part of the class should be directed to the faculty or teaching assistant by email or phone, or through the instructional software.

Homework, tests, paper assignments, and more will be clearly communicated on the class website as well as directly by the professor.

Many online courses are delivered asynchronously via Canvas or Google Learning. You view class lectures on your own schedule and complete assignments within a scheduled time frame. You may be required to meet at set times with the faculty member.

Courses are also taught synchronously, which requires you to attend lectures at a set time, or in a hybrid mode (a mix of asynchronous and synchronous).

It is often possible to begin readings and preparation prior to the first day of class. Please work with your professor to see if this is an option for your class.

This will depend on whether the course is offered asynchronously or synchronously. Asynchronous classes allow students to start at a later date, but if you need to delay to start at a later date, it is best to contact the faculty member directly to see if it is possible to catch up on a couple of days' work.
